10 Reasons Why Gay Marriage is Wrong

1) Being gay is not natural.

And real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses,polyester, and air conditioning, tattoos, piercings and silicon breasts.

2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay.

In the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior.

People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract. Lamps are next.

4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all;

Hence why women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed;

And we can't let the sanctity of Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage be destroyed.

6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children.

So therefore, gay couples, infertile couples,and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our population isn't out of control, our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children,

Since, of course, straight parents only raise straight children.

8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion.

In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

(Did I miss the lesson where Jesus says He hates gays?)

9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home.

Which is exactly why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms.

Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

Re-post this if you believe love makes a marriage.

I personally think this is an important step and Arizona voters should approve this proposition.
I assume you copied your blog comments from an email or such. Any way, you or the original author is right....Jesus doesn't ever say he hates homosexual people....he actually loves all sinners.....but he does say their behavior is a sin. And Jesus does hate sin....all sin. So homosexual marriage would also be a sin and Jesus hates their homosexual behavior and choices related to their homosexual choices.
So even though your blog is meant to be a spoof, it is basically saying that we, as Americans, need to just get over it and let homosexual individuals do what ever they please, that it is not going to change life, the sactity of marriage, the structure of marriage, or the perspective young people have on their sexuality. As Christians , we can not accept this, just as we can not be in favor of any other sin. We can not support drunkeness, adultry, or stealing either. We need to live the way God intended for us to live and the way his word, the Bible, guides us. And that is as heterosexual people....one man and one woman entering into a marriage with the prospect of bringing children into this world. You might check out the discussion that Bobby Torres began on Homosexuality. And you might want to reconsider this blog...I am not sure it says what you intended. God bless you! And I love the pics of your boys....I work with children with similar difficulties everyday...they are a blessing to me as I am sure your boys are to you. Talk to you more later...take care. Nanette

Kaitlynn said… I know that we are supposed to do as God asks and keep tradition going to protect our marriages. I know that I truly think that true marriage is a man and a woman, but I CAN'T tell another person they cannot marry just because of what I believe. Think: IF A FETUS GREW UP TO BE GAY, WOULD YOU STILL FIGHT FOR ITS RIGHTS? If we believed that having long hair for men meant you were a sinner, do I have to plan out that person's life? No. The way they live their life is BETWEEN THEM AND GOD. Pushing my beliefs on others is wrong, immoral, and persecution. We are America, and that is what it should mean.

I have been wanting to respond to you more, but my brain has not been blessed with God's words...I have been exhausted with an overload in my life these days. But I just wanted you to know that I like the way you stand up for what you believe in. You would be a great ali in any battle of wills. I used to debate in high school, and not only did I enjoy studying the issues and finding evidence for my arguments, but I loved to speak it and win! But I learned some very valuable lessons from those years of debate. We had to learn the pros and cons of each question. We didn't know if we were going to debate the positive or the negative of each issue until we arrived at the competition. And we had to be just as convencing no matter which side we ended up having to support. But I soon found that no matter how prepared I was and no matter how well I spoke, if I didn't believe in what I was saying, it made it harder to defend. I also learned that many arguments had "holes" in them...much of the evidence for one side of the arguement was always full of flaws and opinions that had no backing. So now, as a Christian, I have learned to seek out God's word on every topic that I question, including homosexuality. Seems our Bible is quite the cook book, full of recipes for our life, telling us how to walk , talk, eat, exercise, behave, live and die. And it very specifically tells us about homosexuality, adultry, and many other sins. So I don't speak from my own opinion, but the factual research from God's holy Word. I will speak to your more in response to your previous comment, but not tonight...too much on my mind to handle it well. So I will tell again, that God has blessed you with spirit and energy and strength...so I will pray that you may continue to use that to further God's kingdom! More L8R....nanette
