Permalink Reply by LaKeyah Nicole Harper on November 17, 2011 at 12:10pm For young kids....ages 11 to 14 where are they going to go out for a date anyway? Is their mom going to drop them off at the movies then drive them for ice cream after???. What does that age group do on a date anyway? Walk the mall? And I guess mom is supposed to pay for it too unless their allowance is really generous. Kids that age don't even have the $$$ to go on a real date! No, I don't think young kids at that particular age should be dating at all. And Yes, i believe that we date to MARRY. We date to get to know the other person to see if we fit well with that person. I have 2 daughters ages 11 and 6. Of course I'm like: "NO! You are not dating until 18!" But, an actual date...I may let them go on a date as early as 16. Of course I & dad would have to meet he boy. Maybe we'd invite him to dinner to check him out & see what type of boy he is/ get to know him. Then maybe we would invite him over sometimes to see how mature they are. See if they can handle it and be responsible. I'm going to also make sure they know the difference between the word "DATE" and "boyfriend" completely different.
