Truth and the Gospel

I was wondering! If you were taught the word of God in a pleasing manner so that it would not offend you-yet compromise the truth in process; Would that bother you? That the Gospel would be suited to your expectations and that sin would be spoken of in a light manner so as to make you feel comfortable! Truth hurts and demands that you succumb to its demands, would you hear it any way; even if it challenged most of the things you do now and thought were okay, challenged your very idea of your salvation and how to live as a believer?
