We can evangelize or socialize. It all depends on whether you are saved or not.

Dear Mommy and Daddy,

From the beginning, God knew how special I was and He picked two perfect people for His plan. He placed us in and around a family completely prepared to love and support us in whatever was to come. You loved me without even knowing me. God’s hand was upon you from the start, working in you both and entrusting me, His precious baby, in your care. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 was written especially for you. When God made me, He had you in mind and was careful to mold you into the parents He knew I needed.

From the first kick inside your stomach, Mommy, you knew I was growing fast. Each movement assured you both that God had His hand on us all. You chose to eat healthy and never took risks that could bring me any harm. You both constantly talked to me and prayed with me, pouring the foundation of Jesus in my life. “Before I formed in you in the womb, before you were born, I set you apart…” Jeremiah 1:5

I know it was a painful struggle to bring me into this world, and you never lost sight of the gift that God gave you both and were patient with me through it all. Although I came earlier than expected, you rearranged your lives, wholeheartedly loving me from the first time I opened my blue eyes. “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love NEVER fails…” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

You soon came to find out that I was a special baby with special needs. You supported me when I didn’t have the strength to support myself. Daddy, you protected me at all costs and Mommy, God placed all the love and nurturing I needed inside of you. He showed you both how I needed to be cared for and you did so without restraint. God gave you grace to unfold His plan in our lives. “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

In my greatest time of need, Mommy and Daddy, you NEVER stopped fighting for me. While most people would have been intimidated and afraid, your parental instincts took charge. With determination, you accepted the challenge and responsibility of embracing me with your words and actions. You sacrificed everything for me, and in my mind, I never doubted that you wanted me. Through all of the tears, I could feel your warmth around me and I was never scared. “…Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 I know this is difficult for you to experience, but God’s purpose for my life is now complete. For the past ten months, I’ve watched you become exactly what God had envisioned. Although you can’t physically hold me, I will always be etched in your hearts. You will ALWAYS be my Mommy and Daddy and I will ALWAYS be your baby boy. Mommy, God’s hands were on me that night and He was in control. Daddy, you did everything in your power for me, but God’s plan had to be fulfilled. “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” Romans 8:1

I know you did not desire this outcome, but I am thankful for the time I had with you. Even though your faith is strong, please encourage and build each other up. I’m glad that God placed us together and we will see each other once again. Mommy, I took my first steps in heaven and Daddy, I will be playing soccer very soon. I am with Jesus now and we are grateful for everything you did for me. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
