Old Tears

Confused.
Swirling images of deeds long done.
The din of sins that fester within.
My heart is hollow, wailing for quiet.
Shedding old tears.

Tired.
Exhaustion threatens to shut my eyes for me.
Yesterday's tragedies are not yet gone.
I would sleep but I fear the dreams.
So I sit and shed old tears.

Wounded.
My spirit is mauled.
Shredded by these tortured years.
I cannot run because I've been captive too long.
So I nurse my fears, my shame and my old tears.

End.
A deep dark hole.
A piercing point of light.
I wipe away old tears.
Because He loves me anyway.
