Let's change the Heart of President Obama and save the lives of the unborn!

Website: http://www.RedEnvelopeDay.com
What: Get red envelopes or postcards (http://www.zazzle.com/RedEnvelopeDay) and mail them on March 31st to the White House

When:
March 31st, 2009

Get a red envelope. You can buy them at Kinkos, office supply stores or at party supply stores. On the front, address it to:

President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington , D.C. 20500

On the back, write the following message.

This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion.
It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be a part of our world.

We will mail the envelopes out March 31st, 2009.

Put it in the mail, and send it. Then forward this event to every one of your friends who you think would send one too. I wish we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for every child who died [in the U.S.] before having a chance to live.

It may seem that those who believe abortion is wrong are in a minority. It may seem like we have no voice and it's shameful to even bring it up. Let us show our President and the world that the voices of those of us who do not believe abortion is acceptable are not silent and must be heard.

Together we can change the heart of The President and save the lives of millions of children.

Thank you.

Barack Obama spoke at a Planned Parenthood Action Fund event, uttering the now infamous line, "Well, the first thing I'd do as president is, is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. [Applause.] That's the first thing that I'd do."

An empty red envelope will send a message to President Barack Obama that there is moral outrage in this country over this issue [The Freedom of Choice Act, which will essentially “undo” every law currently in place to limit abortion in the U.S. (i.e., parental consent laws, parental notification, waiting periods, prohibition of transporting a minor girl across state lines to obtain an abortion, etc.)]. It will be quiet, but clear.

Please read more about The Freedom of Choice Act here:

Thanks, Brenda...I found out about it on Facebook. I think it is an excellent way for many of us to "speak" out with tact and diplomacy. God wants us to speak out for what is right, and this is just one small opportunity he has shown us. We need to pray that the message touches the Presidents heart.

Nanette thanks for posting this. After I passed the word, I bought a sheet of red poster board and cut it into postcard sized pieces. Post cards are 27 cents. I am hand writing mine. I plan to add a different statistic on each one. I also will email my senators and representative on the Freedom of Choice Act. The abortion issue is a big one for me and many states have made critical inroads to limiting abortions. Have you ever encountered any of the Bound4life people. Check it out at www.bound4life.com. God Bless

Thanks for the info, Carol. I will check out Bound 4 Life. I really hope everyone writes at least a few red post cards or red envelopes...I have a friend who said she was happy to hear about the Freedom of choice act. She said she hated to see "women's rights" set back in time. She is a new grandmother...I asked her , "Who is going to protect his rights?"

Nanette,
Many of the "boomer" generation grew up accepting abortion as a right and a choice, but I believe the younger folks now don't have that mindset as a generation. I look for great progress from our younger generation concerning abortion. I have only encountered one woman who was glad she had one and she was an animal rights activist - go figure. Most women I have discussed this with regret it. I also place lots of the responsibility on the men. What woman would want an abortion if the man said Praise the Lord we are having a child! We know that isn't what happens. But the men I've known who's babies were aborted acted like it had nothing to do with them. Did you know the number one reason for death of a pregnant woman is murder. We must pray that our people open their eyes and see abortion as murder. I'm sure God does. Don't get me started! I have never been blessed with a birth child, but I have raised many children. I don't want to come off like I would never do that because at one point in my life, had I gotten pregnant, I would have had an abortion, so I Praise God for making me barren.

I joined last month or just when it came out. I have my red envelope ready hanging on my calendar to be mailed out on March 31st. I am a minister who had a home for unwed mothers in 1987-88 and we saved serveal lives. It is powerful what this will do. Thank you do much for such an genuious thought and action. We support you in prayer and with our actions too. God bless you as you work for God. I have an idea too...as a follow up. If you will pray about this as I am just getting started on a shoe string budget for my new Greeting card business....with your help, I will design a greeting card for you to sell at cost of $2.00 per card...to display any insignia for saving babies you want and maybe through our websites we can spread this to get orders in and the cards out and keep it going....Let me know if God puts this as a good idea in your heart. Blessings, Joyce / Minister

Hi all, i went to staples today to buy my 100 red envelopes, and the salesgirl said that she had already sold out of what she had. She said that a number of people had come in today. i told her about the "red envelope day". How the empty envelopes represented the aborted babies, and were being mailed to the White House. She had never heard about it, but she now knows the most likely reason why they all sold out.
and me, well, i ended up having to buy red printing paper to make my envelopes out of. most stores say they only carry (at least in bulk) red envelopes at Christmas time.

I bought a piece of posterboard and cut it into postcard sized pieces. The postage is 27 cents and the posterboard was a little over a dollar. I'm retired on a fixed income so I'm naturally thrifty. I write "This represents an aborted child, the life that was taken is now unable to be part of our world" I also include one of the statistics from bound4life.com. Don't let the lack of envelopes stop anyone from participating. Also understand that just because there is no current legislation on FOCA (all legislation not acted upon dies at the end of that session of Congress and must be reintroduced) doesn't mean there won't be one. Our lawmakers and president are busy with the financial mess, but Obama has stated for the record that he would support FOCA.
God Bless!
