Profile Information

My Testimony (about me): On this beloved internet, I am known as, "Berlin", "Miss Gambolputty", and "Gambolputty". On occasion, some random person unwittingly steals my identity, and I type down as my username "berlinbunny". In this case, many people call me "Bunny", and I don't mind that, either. If you come up with some other nick-name for me, you're welcome to call me by it.

I attend a public school, and somehow managed to get my dad as my physics teacher this year. Last year, I had a Chemistry teacher who I thought was very wonderful, but I honestly believe she was not very fond of me. She put me in the very last row and kept me there the whole year, placing me next to chatterboxes. I did have a good time, but not good enough to focus; plus, there was a vent in the ceiling between the back row and up front where she stood, and whether they chatted or not, I still was unable to hear her. I received a C in that class, and my teacher chose Standard Physics for me to take the next year.
My Dad is a very good teacher and has won various awards because of it, including The Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science (math and science being part of the same award). However, his methods of teaching were quite different then other teachers'; for example, he didn't ever assign homework. There was a new principal at our school, who had just arrived the year prior, and he didn't approve of my dad's teaching methods for AP Physics. He filled up my dad's schedule for the next year with standard and honors physics classes. (Lots of kids who were going to take AP Physics dropped the class when they heard. The principal received many complaints from parents: "We were going to send our child to Loyola but when we saw that man at back-to-school night we sent him there and now you're getting rid of my kid's chance to have him..."
And Dad and I ended up in the same standard physics class. It's alright though; I love it. He describes it in terms of relationships, and oftentimes, the class will break into a huge commotion as people break into a million conversations about the mysteries of the universe. Dad brings in metaphysics as well, and I get shivers down my spine. It's all so complex and beautiful.
My parents are very strong Christians, but are both very interested in delving deeper into the true meaning of the Bible. They believe in evolution, and they're firm believers in a figurative creation story. They challenge me to ask questions about my faith, and apply it to various areas in my life; they light my curiosity and push me past the safe areas of my faith to more provocative and dangerous places that are open to all sorts of thinking.

Pastor Fred cracked a funny at the end of the service though; he said that it'd be nice if we could turn in our palm branches cuz the church gets a refund on the ones they send back to wherever they got them. But, if we really wanted to, we could keep them.

Awkward Hugging.

Don't you hate it when you are trying to give someone a hug and you both go kinda the same direction and you can't really hug cuz your faces are about to bump into each other and so you both move out of each others way and your faces meet again and this happens about 3 times and then it's automatically the most horrible hug in the world?

Holocaust

The Holocaust was a mass slaughter of Jews, right? Well, it was also a mass "liquidation" of people who did not meet Hitler's standards of perfection- blue eyes, blond hair... and in the right mindset.
