My Testimony (about me)
My name is Christal Franklin, I'm 21 years old and I was born in Phoenix, AZ. I grew up in a Christian home but it took a long time for me to experience God. I began drinking, smoking weed, fornicating(A-Y), being rebelious, and dressing promiscuous at the age of 12. I desired to be loved and to recieve attention so much. At age 13 I gave my heart to a boy who really did NOT deserve it, we dated for 2 years and when it ended I was completely devestated and which resulted in depression. My parents divorced when I was 17 years old. We moved to a different city my junior year of high school. I switched high schools 4 times within 6 months of my junior year. I was so broken and I sought a way to numb the pain with prescription drugs, boys, cocaine, eating disorders, weed, music, alcohol an..acy. It worked for a while, but whenever I was sober I hated life and conteplated suicide all the time. I lost my virginity at a party where I was taken advantage of while passed out. Eventually I built up so many walls around my heart that I just stopped laughing, stopped crying, and stopped showing any emotion at all. I was numb but screaming inside...
God heard my screams when noone else could.
At age 20 I was EVANGELIZED to and invited to Spirit Life Church. After a couple weeks, I gave my life to the Lord at a Friday Night Live service on November 16th, 2006. It has not been an easy journey but one thing is for certain, God is still faithful. When guys didn't fulfill me, God was faithful. When drugs and alcohol didn't fulfill me, God was faithful. When money didn't fulfill me, God was faithful. There really is no greater love than the love of Jesus Christ.
"Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." I know that in Christ I am a new creation and all my sins have been washed away! Thank you Jesus!!

The Voice of my Beloved

I silenced Your still small voice and I danced to the rythym of my own heart beat. I was scared to know the Truth, Your plan. Scared to lose what I never had, my dreams of love, of happily ever after. Oh God my heart is a manipualtive child, deceptive and disloyal, stabbing me in the back. It is blinding the eyes of your daughter. God I have cried out for Your will and You have heard my cries. I have made a covenant with You. I am Yours and I will follow long and hard after You. Now I can see the enemy approaching ahead and I run with all my might to hide behind the safety of my Protector and Strong Tower, my Husband, the King. Keep Me God! Show me Your ways! Burn away the Wax in this midnight hour so that I can Hear your voice, For your voice sweet and all who hear it desire more and are never satisfied. Shed the scales from my eyes in this dry desert, so that I can see Your Beautiful Face and I can see the Love of the Mighty Savior unfold before my very eyes. Compress my heart with Your Mighty hands and smash away the shells of concrete that has kept me hardened. Now in Your possession You hold a new heart, soft, moldable, pure, safe and Yours. Completely and undeniably Yours. I couldn't leave You, even if I tried!

Show me God! Show me! I cry, I urge You to show me Your will. No longer decieved by the passions of my own desires, but out of Your woo-ing and unquenchable love I desire the better way. I can hear Your voice saying," Run to Me! Run to Me! My beloved. Trust in Me. When have I failed you? Won't you let me love you more? I will build your house upon the Rock. Your foundation will not be shaken. Your house will be built upon Righteousness. Your children and your childrens children will reap from this foundation and be blessed, if you let Me build it. Your desires will be yours if you let your desires go. I will tear down the ruins of the old house, let Me rebuild it. I will be your Husband for all of eternity. Trust Me. Your enemies will pass by your house and tremble. They will attack with arrows from a distance, but shielded is the home that I will build and strong will be the walls upon My foundation. I will make a door that can never be locked, all who are lost and broken hearted can come in. Let them come in and experience My Love. Love them, I will show you how. (God I don't think I can do this) "Being Confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."

I am Yours, You may have me Lord, I trust You!

I would say welcome back, but you never really left. You just took an unwise vacation from the family of God. But welcome back from your vacation. The most important thing is that we learn from our mistakes and build a foundation from that. I know that you are going to use this experience as a stepping stone to grow stronger in Christ and closer to Christ. I can't wait to see how God uses you.
