Profile Information

My Testimony (about me): Hi Im Dawn and Im 23 yrs. old. My Testimony is this.
I remember having a rebellious spirit at a very young age. I have always wanted to do what I wanted to do, and didnt feel that anybody should tell me different. In High school is where I began to experiment in the drinking and the drugs. I would always being running away from home and stealing from family. In 2001 I was sent to the Teen Reach program in AZ. There is where I gave my life to the Lord. But once I left the program and was faced with the temptation of my past, I quickly went back to the world. It just got worse I had dropped out of High school and was just living life for friends and drugs. I started doing cocaine, special K, pretty much anything I could get I would do. 8 months of that I was sent back to the program, where I didnt want anything to do with God. I wanted so bad to go back to the life I knew in Michigan. So I did what I had to do to get out of the program. Once again I was back to my old ways. Except I was alone. My family had made the choice to move to Az and I decided to stay in MI. I had no where to live. I was house to house. During this time I got so bad that even my wordly friends didnt want to be around me anymore. So I was left with nothing. I ended up living with a drug dealer. I felt alone and helpless. I filled that void with doing so much cocaine that I passed out in the shower and split my head from the fall. After that I made the choice to let the drugs go and to move to Az with my family. But I still felt lonley, so I filled that with guys. I was in bad relationship after another. At the age of 20 I was pregnant. I had no job, no money. I had to make the hardest desicion to give my baby up for adoption. I struggled with depression for awhile after that. Finally I started meeting new friends. So now I was out drinking and partying all the time. A old friend came into my life and I had cut down on all the partying because he was a recovering herion addict I wanted to help him stay clean. He was my best friend. After 2 years of him being clean. He slipped up and overdosed. He past away at the age of 21. It broke my heart. But also woke me up to think What am I doing with my life?.
3 months ago I found out I was pregnant again. I thought my life could not get any worse. I felt I was living a pointless life. I was tired of being beat down by the world. I was worn out and knew that there was only one way turn and thats to Jesus. But I was so stubborn that I wanted to figure things out on my own, My way just kept getting worse. God had other plans for me. At a Friday Night Live service. He got ahold of me, and I just got to the point where I could not resist him anymore. I couldnt keep running from what I knew was the answer to what I have been looking for. I rededicated my life to the Lord. Everyday is a struggle, But now I know that I all I have to do is look to Jesus and he will lead the way. I thank him everyday for saving my life. And I cant wait to see what He has in store for me.

I was a lukewarm Christian for most of my life because I had junk I didn't want to let go of. But I did want to get to know God, so I started reading my Bible every day at the age of 50. After a while I started, letting go of little things. I started being kinder to people even when they were unkind to me. I kept reading and started praying and God kept changing me a little at a time. I gave up smoking, drinking, cussing and weed. It was not hard, God gave me Grace, but the biggest gift He gave me was He healed me of the deep unforegiveness I carried in my heart for so long it was part of me. I wsh I had started reading my Bible when I was your age, but I'm so grateful that God pulled me to Him even later in life. I would not go back to my junk, I don't miss it at all. God Bless you.
