My Testimony (about me)

I live for my Lord & savior Jesus Christ. I am happily married to my high school sweetheart.....for 28 years now. We have 2 beautiful adult children-a daughter & son. We also have 4 grandsons.......ranging in age from 8years to 8months. The 8mth olds are TWINS!!! They definitely keep nana busy! I try to live my life the way Jesus would have me. I admit that I am not perfect but I try not to make the same mistake twice. I hope to meet others with my passion for life. I also hope to reconnect with old friends & family members I have lost touch with.
I wanted to add a little more about myself.I only gave you a touch of my life. I was raised in a christian home which my parents split up for a few months when I was about 12y.o. They did get back together & eventually renewed their wedding vows. My dad was the best. I never really remember him raising his voice. My mom did everything for the family. She stayed at home for many years to raise me & my siblings,...which my brother is the oldest,...followed by my two older sisters & then little ole me! :) We ate supper around the family dinner table every single night,....had a huge garden which we all were involved in the raising & gathering of the crops. We had household chores. All four of us were involved in school activities, etc for as long as I can remember. My dad was a police officer for many years but he was also the bus driver for most of our school functions,..games, choir trips,....etc. Everyone loved him. I know that is where I got my humor. We had to work for everything. Yes,...I got all the hand-me-downs,...girl clothes that is! LOL. We were rasied most of our younger years in a very small town. We did without alot but love & encouragement was not one of those. We were ok. We were very active in church. Mom had a strong faith in God & I am so thankful for her sharing that with all of us. I married my high school sweetheart. It was good for a long time but then he started abusing me. I had never been exposed to that kind of behavior so it was hard for me to even grasp onto what was happening. I did notice one thing though;everytime my hubbys dad got mad at him & cursed him out,...he woul take it out on me. I stayed,....for all the wrong reasons. But,.....to try to make a long story short,......I left only to return. Eventually,....God opened his eyes to what he was doing. He rededicated his life,....as I also did too. We have a new beginning & he hasn't ever layed a hand on me in years. He cries when we talk about the past. But,.......God has forgiven & I have too. I had & still have,....faults. We both fall short of the Glory of God,.....but it's ok. We both have battled deadly diseases & have prevailed.......over satan......with the help of our Heavenly Father. Our kids are grown & have left the "nest". They are very close to us & each other. Our daughter lives around the block & we have a much better relationship ,..esp since she grew out of the puberty years. She is a wonderful wife & mother. My son is a wonderful father. He has really been mother & father to his little boy. Braden loves his daddy so much. His little eyes just light up when he sees his daddy.
My dad went to be with our heavenly Father back in Oct 1991 after battling Colon cancer with Liver mets. My mom joined him in Oct of 2004 after battling stomach cancer. She was crippled up from arthritis. I miss them both very much. I used to call mom when I would get upset or when some obstacle was thrown my way & she would always remind me of God's promises! That is the biggest thing I miss the most.
So,....I think I have the bulk of it here. I have had major health problems in the past 14 years. It seemed like every time I turned around I was in emergency surgery & it was not something I could have prevented. I finally decided that God wanted me to slow down so I could "hear" HIM. Life sometimes gets in the way because we let it. I am so thankful for my salvation & I am so blessed.Thank you Father!

We are in the process of looking for a church close enough to us that will feed us the way we should be fed. We were going to Macedonia but there were some problems with the pastor & other staff, We attend Cathedral of Praise when we can. I am asking God to direct us to where HE wants us to be. We are definitely not "benchwarmers". We want to learn more about God's word.

This is so funny!!! Chonda Pierce is ,..to me,...THE funniest woman on the planet, Watch & enjoy!!! It is good for the soul!!!

Son-in-law is in outpatient treatment for Alcohol Abuse.....PLEASE pray!

Dear friends ,
I need to ask you to lift my son-in-law up in prayer. He is currently being treated on an outpatient basis. They would not allow him to get this treatment inpatient since he is able to function, work a job, etc. The only way they said he could be admitted is for a court order, etc. Please pray the Lord will free him of this addiction.
