- My Testimony (about me)
- Wow... this is acctually 1 of the first times i've ever shared my testimony, so this is going to be very interesting. God knows exactly what He's doing. Well.. i acctually grew up Jehovah's witness.. it was very rough. I remember going to the services every sunday bored out of my mind, i could'nt clap, i could'nt yawn, i could'nt even say God bless you if someone sneezed. Including not celebrating any holiday...Crazy right? i know.. Well 1 thing led to another, my mom went to the elders there with some very private imformation, and they disfellowshipped her... for those of you that don't know what that means.. they basically cut you off from fellowshipping with everyone in the congregation, including your children, which meant no one could speak to you, or even look your way. That really hurt my mom, and it devastated me to see something like that so young. After that incident, my family was very uncomfortable going back there, so we stopped going. Shortly after that, we tried going to church.. i remember my first time going to a church, i was petrified.. because being a Jehovah's witness there was no jumping, or shouting, or catching the Holy Ghost.. i was taught being a Jehovah's witness that the Holy Ghost was of the devil.. well enough of that.. but it was very difficult for me at first. A couple yrs. later, i was just doing my own thing, not going to church, not serving God.. but i've always believed! 1 day me and my dad were having a garage sale, and this guy comes by.. and he's like well are you selling those speakers, because i'm looking for some for my church. Me and my dad were very suprised because we've never seen a pastor out and about like that, so 1 thing led to another, the pastor had invited us to his church, and the whole family went and loved it. I began to grow out of that fear that i've had of churches, and i excepted Christ as my Lord and savior at 15 yrs old.. i've been saved ever since. I am now 21 yrs. old and happily married to the love of my life.. I sing and play drums for the Lord aswell. There's so much more to my testimony, but i will leave it at that. You have a wonderful story, one which I'm sure has/will serve you well as a testimony to others of similar groups. I can relate to being frightened upon first visit to a church. When I was 8, my best friend took me to her Assemblies of God church. At that time the only churches I'd ever visited were Baptist and Catholic, so I'm sure you can relate to the shock I experienced when an old woman hollered out in tongues behind me. Currently I attend an Open Bible church and work in children's ministries. I like to find interesting tidbits in scripture that will be interesting and intriguing to kids. My prayer is that through this, the kids I have an opportunity to teach will continue to be interested in scripture through their adulthood.

- Thank you for the add. I am careful who I accept. I read your testimony. Interesting, I was raised a JW too. I was one until about 27. I had been disfellowshipped twice. But even after that, I still believed in it and told my, now wife, that if I ever go back to anything it would be a JW. God had other plans. Thank God! Well, nice meeting you.
