My Testimony (about me)

My name is Lauren. I am originally from Texas. My dad would always go out of town when I was younger so I got to be really close with my mom growing up. And when I was 9 years old my life came crashing down on me. My mom committed suicide. Later I found out she was an alcoholic and took medication for depression. I couldn't believe what had happened to me. I grew up after that with different baby sitters every few years because my dad would always go out of town. When I turned 14 I lost my virginity and started drinking alcohol. I totally stopped believing in God. I became depressed, angry at my mom and dad. By the time I was 16 I was going to parties every weekend. I had a different boyfriend every month. I was failing school and I didn't care about anything. I started getting into weed then that led into cocaine, meth, and ecstasy. Everything was going my way until one night I got a DWI and possession of marijuana. That's when my dad found out I was on drugs and drinking. He sent me to Oklahoma to live with my sister then after a few months he got engaged. I moved back to Texas with him and his fiance. I got really bad into cocaine. I became dependant on it and I was still in a really bad relationship with this guy. My dad finally found out I was on cocaine and he told me he didn't want to have anything to do with me until I decided to change my life. That's when I decided I needed to go to rehab. I found Second Chance on the Internet and I came here a week later. On my 2nd day in Arizona I gave my life back to God and surrendered my addictions, depression, bitterness, hatred etc... to Him. He totally transformed my life. I am new person today. I went through Second Chance for a month then went into Elijah Generation. I did Elijah Generation for 2 years and I cannot tell you the extent of the transformation that occurred during this time. I cannot tell you where I would be today if I hadn't accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I would probably be dead but His mercy endures forever! There is nothing in the world that can ever fullfill you like Jesus Christ. He is the ONLY way and He will give you true peace and joy.
