My Testimony (about me)

Up until around the time I was in 5th grade, I went to church and dropped out a few times. I thought I was saved in 2000, but never was really serious about it until a few years later. I started getting serious about my faith in 2003. In 2004, I preached my first sermon and knew about my calling to ministry. Since a few years later, my church has been fighting itself the hardest I've ever seen. It ended up splitting in half, one staying, one leaving. The youth pastor was fired before that. The new pastor after that one resigned because a majority of the congregation hated him, yet the church was growing because of him. I have left that church 2 times after he resigned and he is the one who brought me back. While at AU, I did not find a church to stay in. Over the summer following my freshman year, I went back to visit and hated every moment of it. It became even more hateful and traditional than before. That is, unless you agreed with them 100%, then they loved you. Disagree on any issue and they pretty much hate you. I have not been back. My 2 years at AU have brought me from Baptist to nondenominational to emergent church to "predenominational" to agnostic to house church to a mix of things (small parts of each of the above with a touch of Messianic and maybe a few other things; it's hard to define my beliefs). I am in search for the truth of the Bible and I want to live it. I'm sick of the religion that has been forced on me and I do not tolerate it. Jesus made a living angering the religious people and I do the same to some of them. Some of them have a mind open enough to listen, even if they don't agree. I'm not out to convince, only to present another view and leave you to figure it out for yourself.
