Profile Information

My Testimony (about me): Once upon a time ... I write this way, because it is a long time ago and so far away from me that it doesn’t feel real anymore. I’ve been a sensitive kid and more introverted, was frustrated with life because I wasn’t really sticking out in any way. I wasn’t very smart, strong, gifted, fast or good looking and on top of it I was lazy and through that not able to do something out of the little I had. I blamed my parents for it, who were very permissive. As I didn’t see any sense in trying anymore I gave up and became a mix out of a “No Future Punk” and a New Wave (now you know it’s been a long time). All my clothes were black or gray and sometimes I even put a little white in my face and dark around my eyes. Now I am a really white guy and the last thing I should put on my face is white. Now I was sticking out! As I was somewhat suicidal but too afraid to do something like that I wanted to take drugs. By that time my mom had become a Christian and prayed for me. As hard as I tried I was not able to get drugs (of cause I was broke all the time too), it just didn’t seem to work out. Of cause I heard of God at that time, especially after my father became a Christian too, but I couldn’t believe it because the Christians I met had more problem than I and I didn’t see much difference. One time I got so frustrated that I said to God: I don’t believe you are real, but in case you are, you can have my life, because I don’t find it of any use anyway. That opened the door a little and some months later He took my life over by force. My life has never been the same. I made a lot of mistakes on the way and circumstances have been hard a lot of time, but I got up every time with His help. I call myself an Adullamite, meaning without God I am truly nothing (the Adullam story is very long, if you’re interested let me know). The “Adullam revelation” became such a part of my life that I even called my business “Adullam”. God sent me to California to go to Bible College and then told me after it, to go back to Germany and start a publishing company. I was mad for some weeks at God. Of cause I wanted God to use me and give me an assignment, but I didn’t want to go back to Germany and I had no clue of books. Actually I almost failed school because of English, History and German. In my youth I didn’t even read the bubbles in comics. How could God ask me to do something like that? I started the company very reluctantly and I had no fun doing it in the beginning, but now, 13 years later, I am a successful publisher and I love what I am doing. People ask me often: What university did you go to? But I have to tell them that I never went to university. So people think I am an autodidact, but that is wrong too, I am a theodidact! To God be all the Glory!

I just couldn't take it any more, even though we were successful in business, I was miserable. People were praying for me. I had almost died in those years from a logging accident. I turned my life over to the Lord completely and have been sold out for many years now working with young people the whole time. I am the spiritual father of so many now I do not even know. Now for several years my thoughts have been consumed in the idea of going out on the mission field.

You know I can relate to your youth when you felt like you behind the 8 ball as far as being gifted and having a lot to offer. However, I must tell you that God likes to use people like you and me.
