My Testimony (about me): Who is Rosa Williams:

I would say I am someone that knows, desires, remembers, and suffers.

Let me elaborate on that. I know that God is for me. I desire to please the Lord – He knows that is my heart. I remember what he has done for me in past and by remembering it gets me through now. I suffer because when denying what my flesh wants and thinks it needs, well, that makes me suffer and enduring it is good for me. But to be truthful, my flesh wins at times – thankfully now it’s less often when my flesh celebrates its victories over my spirit.

Being raised in church all my childhood and the daughter of a pastor – I wasn’t always the “picture perfect” kid.

No matter how deep into sin I got myself into as a teenager, no matter how far away I thought I was from God, I, as a prodigal daughter always came home - and there He was with all His love, and arms wide open. Do you know something, I cannot count how many times I would leave again and again – His fingers would slip through my fingers as I said my farewell. Still when I came back to my Father I saw the same face full of love and His arms still wide open. He never failed me and I know he never will. It’s impressive to know that scripture and to say it to others, but too actually live in it is beyond impressive.

I look back and I’m in complete awe – the protection, the favor, the mercy, and love, His perfect and gentle love carried me through everything… Even then when so much was against me – it was all actually against God. Even in sin, He was my shield. If He is with me, what can be against me?

Now at 32 years old I want to share with you what I recently and finally caught the truth of – I do not have to be “perfect” for God to use me. That’s right!! Oh my goodness, how exhausting it was – for example, it was like hitting a brick wall time and time again, I just wouldn’t get it. I thought that by overcoming everything in my life first and reaching perfection then, only then would I be able to serve God and reach out to others the way He wanted me too. The guilt of not being perfect right at that very moment would not allow me to shine the light within. People would be drawn to me for help – and many times I wouldn’t help because I wasn’t perfect yet.
What a lie. What…. a…..lie.

My son's eyes..

My son, Dino, he is truly my best friend. I had just turned 16 years old when I had him – he watched me mature from a teenager, young adult, and finally into a woman. Since I had him many of the best decisions I made in my young life were for him. Despair

I wrote this back around the New Year, hope it reaches out to someone that still remembers their lowest points were actually the highest...

Endurance...

Have you ever been so upset about something, and feel that at any moment you would just explode? Even when we walk with Christ these type of emotions are not impossible to have. In that instant we have a choice - do we give into what are emotions are dictating, or do we endure it? Perhaps that by enduring it that situation will bring forth such a victory and ultimatley becoming a testimony for somebody else....

She gave me some added insight to my travels on this temporary path. I am going to get her book for children at www.HopeNoMatterWhat.com.
