My Testimony (about me): Hi I'm Steve, I'm 19 and this is my testimony. Life in high school was tough for me, freshmen year I had a friend commit suicide. This got me curious that maybe killing myself was the right answer to end this life of pain. It wasn't that my life sucked it was that i was constantly getting picked on for being the smart kid. Made fun of by the blacks for being white and made fun of by the whites for being black. I soon stopped keeping up with my studies and fell into the life of drugs, alcohol and sex by my junior year. I was certain i would die somewhere in my 17th year before i turned 18. I was kicked out of my home numerous times for stealing, coming home drunk and having drugs in the house. I grew up in a christian home so this was unacceptable and they did not know how to handle the situation. So certain of death i did not care for my life or others. My friend i grew up with was killed by a drunk driver in early july of 2009. I put 21 lighter burns on my arms after a bottle of smirnoff and a couple blunts. Then on July 24 2009 i took a whole bottle of topamax and a whole bottle of ultra pain killers. Accepting death i was picked up by the police and taken to the hospital then sent to a mental facility. All of this happened on my mothers Birthday which is july 25. I was sober for 5 months then started up again with the drugs alcohol and sex. After being kicked out again, I realized one night after about 4 months of being out of my home, that something needed to change. Question was what? I accepted Jesus Christ into my life August 15, 2010. I never turned back, I gave up all my old friends, the addictions of sex, drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes. I gave it to him and he released me of these worldly burdens. Now I am free, not to do as i please, but to complete His all perfect will. I believe all our stories are beautiful, from the person saved who never did 'worldly' things to the person who experienced the most graphic and intense lives. God uses both extremes and those in the middle alike. I wouldn't change my life in the past for anything because I know God will use it for His glory. He will never be able to use anyone else in this world exactly the way He will use me. We are all united in Christ yet unique. Praise be to Him for His undeserved kindness and mercy!!
