My Testimony (about me)
http://youhavebeensetfree.blogspot.com/

I was raised in a typical Christian home, and by Christian, I mean we went to church. My parents had only got saved when I was 2, so we were pretty dysfunctional. There was a lot of fighting and yelling in the house between all of us, Mom and Dad almost divorced quite a few times which scarred be bitterly (only by God's grace are they still together). I always loved God, and I knew That Jesus Christ was God and Truth. But I was always rebellious and wanted to break the rules to learn things my own way. I found that that was more fun most of the time, and had some deep-rooted unforgiveness towards my parents.

My freshman year in high school I started drinking and smoking. It of course led to weed and other drugs very rapidly. By my junior year I was a full-blown pot-head, smoking all day every day. School, work, everywhere but home, because I couldn't go there all red-eyed, and get busted.

I went to college in 2005 and failed out after a semester. In college my true nature of a self-conscious, inferior, person was revealed to me from a bad mushroom trip and from that point on I was tormented with a hatred for myself. I went from an outgoing, fun loving kid, to a recluse, tormented by fear. I only hung out with a few people, and never went to class, I would sleep all day and stay up all night. I hated myself because I knew I was pretty much a "weirdo" to say the least.

I moved home after a semester and my parents had no idea how bad I was actually doing. But my true colors surfaced in a few short months, and they kicked me out of their house (THANK GOD!). Over the next few months of moving from house to house, losing my job, and being tormented more and more every day I hit rock bottom. I wanted to die, and was on the verge of insanity, literally. My parents (who I disowned) knew how lost I was, and stole my car one night (which was all that I had left) and told me to go to rehab or they were selling it. After a couple months of trying to find my car and get it back, some long, drunken nights eventually brought me the point of giving in. I told them I would go, do my 30 days, get my car back and never talk to them again. They agreed, and long story made just a little longer, I went to California for a 30 day rehabilitation program.

Two weeks into the program, I knew that I had to give my life completely to God and become one of those "church people" that I had grown to hate so much. I fought it for a few days, but God showed me His goodness, not religion. I told God that if He could fix my life, I would give it all to Him, and gave Him a shot. WOW! What an incredible difference between knowing about God and actually knowing Him. He saved me, not just from my sin, but from the hopelessness that I was stuck in.

Right after rehab, I moved straight to Phoenix to start a new life, with God and in this ministry.
I thank God every day for my parents unconditional, painful love for me and for instilling the Truth of Jesus Christ in me at a young age. Had I not known the Truth, I am positive I would have committed suicide. I knew there was hope even when I was hopeless and didn't want anything to do with God. God has since completely MIRACULOUSLY restored my family. I am very close with both my parents and my brother now and it's only because of the Love of Christ. I have been set free from all the drugs, alcohol, and even cigarettes. I have a purpose and an identity in Christ now, and no longer in what people think about me. Praise God for His faithfulness in my unfaithfulness. I now know God for myself, personally, instead of only knowing about God.
Well that about wraps it up. Quite a story, but this is how we overcome satan; by shouting out what God has done for us out of His love for us. Amen.

Prayer: Practical not Magical

We serve such an amazing, beyond any measure or comprehension, Almighty God. With His Word alone, He set everything into existence in six days. He created an infinite universe in one day, and designed all life on this tiny planet for His pleasure. Best of all, He made man in His image, to be in communion with Him. He created us to love us and for us to worship Him; all for His pleasure. He created us for Him.

Our God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. He can do what He wants when… Continue

What it's all about (myspace post 6-25-2007)

There is one thing that everybody must understand about being a "Christian". To so many people, believers and non-believers alike, being a Christian is being a "good person". They're supposed to give to the poor, help those in need, be nice, smily, friendly. And more importantly, Christians don't drink, smoke, cuss or chew, or run around with girls that do. Sure these are good things, but that's not what being saved is all about. That's just a bunch of rules to follow to hopefully, one day,… Continue

it's TIME TO WAKE UP!!

Yesterday at church the new song "wake up" was sang. At first, sounded like just another song with a good message. But then later that afternoon, I was sorta shook from my sleep with the events that took place as I was driving home at about 4:30.....

I was going north on 19th Ave. to turn onto Indian School. We were almost to the light, and the car ahead of us just coasted right through the red light. CRASH!!!! We watch a pick-up smash into the driver's door and both are totaled. We… Continue

I read this a rehab, and just found it again. It's so true!

Malachi 3:3 says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her… Continue
