Profile Information

My Testimony (about me): My name is Devin Beisel and I have had the privilege of being around the ministry for about 6 years. Praise and glory to God who saved me from a life of drug and alcohol abuse, fornication, pornography, apathy and others.
I grew up in a Christian home with parents who were involved in the Church. My father was a part of the Church Worship and Drama Team, my mother was his support. I always heard from my family especially my grandparents Don and Virginia Beisel, that we were Christians. So I always believed that, but never really understood it.
At the age of 8 years old, my parents got divorced. The divorce was hard on my sisters and I, as it always is, and left some seemingly permanent marks in our hearts. The aftermath of the divorce carried on for awhile, with fighting and arguing even around the kids. My mother, the great woman that she is went out to work 2 jobs and tried going to school for awhile as well, in order to be a provider for the family. She was so faithful to provide, but in the process our commitment to Church was subsituted for weekends of running errands and cleaning the house. We pretty much became your all American household.
High School creeped up pretty quick and after years of private Christian School, my mom just couldn't afford it anymore. Unfortunately, the only affordable option was PUBLIC SCHOOL, and you can imagine what happened next! From this point on I became a disciple of Satan and the world without even knowing it. Being taught that looking out for number one is the only way to live, and that rap and rock are acceptable influences in my life. This is where the web of drugs, sex, and as they say Rock-n-Roll started in my life.
This web of addiction, apathy, truancy, and rebellion continued for years.
Finally at the age of 21, after drinking as much alcohol as possible, partying my young life away, and breaking a few hearts in the process, I realized I wasn't happy and something was missing in my life. God provided a way out for me. I met a man named Bobby Torres who happened to be the first person to ever ask me "Are you a Christian"? That one simple question had me dumbfounded and I didn't know what to say. I knew that I believed and I knew that I wasn't living the Christian life, so I said "kind of". A few hours later, as I am weeping in a restaurant I realized that I needed to give my life to Christ. I decided to make that decision and I also decided that I would immediately take action to make a few changes in my life.
Bobby assisted me in breaking up with my girlfriend of 4.5 years, and Praise God because that was a major stronghold in my life. Anyway, I moved to Arizona a few months later and never looked back.
My Christian walk can be summed up as challenging, exciting, mountaintops, valleys, endurance, and faith! I am blessed to be a part of the Leadership here at Spirit Life Church and I praise God for what he has done in my life. After almost 7 years of being single God provided me with the woman of my dreams. On August 7th Ashton and I married and God has been blessing us ever since. I now know what the scripture means when it says that a man that finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. PRAISE GOD for He gives us more than we deserve!!

I think that my son will be one of the most innocent boys there. innocent as far as drugs, alcohol, and sex are concerned. he has never done any of that. I saw what was comming and acted quickly. I was a troubled teen and I know what starts it. however, he is so angry, and he wont let anyone close. He says he doesn't want to feel anything, or for anyone. Dad left and started a new life with a new woman and he has never been the same. I feel that he can have all the therapy in the world, but unless God gets a hold of him and heals the hurt, we would have wasted our time. He lies all the time. Do you see kids who lie all the time, and now they tell the truth? well got to go the bell is going to ring and I have to pick my kiddos.
