DYSKHORD

DYSKHORD is not for everyone - it is a highly experimental sound with some penetrating content and subject matter.
There are many who are lost to it - it requires the desire for understanding and knowledge.

I make the sound with my hands, my heart, my mind, and my family.

DYSKHORD is composed on vintage Fruityloops software and legacy plugins as well as Sony Soundforge. These are crucial, I intentionally refrain from other DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations - i.e.; different music making software applications) in order to give my music its distinct sound. Hardware is also imperative - I remember talking to Rudy Ratzinger of :Wumpscut: fame about this in particular - you see, some artists need it, others don't - in my opinion..

Myself, I choose my beloved gear.

*KORG Radias Modular Formant Motion Synthesizer
Simply the most fun I've ever had with a synth - I saw it and I had to have it, this baby is the centerpiece for the tweaks and squeals and what nots - it goes into the pedals and the KP3 and is then recorded into Soundforge, edited, and fit into FL

*KORG KAOSS PAD 3
I couldn't ask for more in an FX processor. :D The KP3 is truly wonderful. It's a touch screen! How easy is that?! As I've had it longer and longer, it's becoming more of an instrument than an effects module, it has many of the same components that I've always enjoyed with my other delay pedals through its different settings. The granualizer is probably my fave, but the re-trigger of the loop effect is pretty tasty too. All in all, it lead to me actually programming a lot more granualization on the software end of things to get surgical with it - a touchscreen is nice but there is a time and a place for everything.

*Yamaha Workstations
You could call these two the twins of destiny. LOL sorry that's freaking cheesy * but seriously, this is where the EPIC comes from a lot of the time. The strings - the pizzicato and harp - the burly backbone drums with the fills and trills - you can hear it a lot in the live stuff I've got on Soundcloud.

My dear, sweet pedals. Thank God for delay, my entire sound has grown from one piece of equipment...

...the Ibanez DE7
I've had this Delay/Echo Pedal longer than my baby girl has been alive. Judging by that picture, I haven't washed it either! The DE7 was there for my very first recordings about 14 years ago. This is the only surviving relic from my genesis besides the actual master recordings themselves. I have yet to find anything with the same echo effect or the changeover that happens when the user articulates the Range switch. This is my philosopher's stone. Of course, it all depends on what you're routing into it and where it's being sent. Ibanez made another FANTASTIC pedal in this series simply called the "Smash Box" * an Overdrive/Distortion pedal with many of the same unique features I've never encountered elsewhere. However, inspired by my time with the Smash Box, I have included the sounds it made in a lot of my stuff - the ghosts in my head, if you will.

*DigiTech Digital Delay
Just got this one last year actually, I almost took it back but then I discovered a new technique to integrate with my daisy chain and now I'm hooked.

*Ibanez PDD1 Programmable Digitally Controlled Processor
Over 20 years old! This model was also used by Santana back in the day. It's a very powerful piece of equipment that's been with me almost as long as the DE7. I attribute my trademark sound very much to the combination of these two pieces of equipment.

Look at that old box! I guess Santana used to use one. Fair enough! ;)

DYSKHORD is about hope - triumph over adversity.

Better is a handful with quietness, than both the hands full with travail and vexation of spirit. Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

Sure, it is good and well to be fat and happy, but how much better is that moment of relief when the starving man is finally satiated?

He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes? The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.

We claim our accomplishments, but our fruit is not as sweet as the taste of failure is foul. All love, however strong, however much is invested, can crumble with one act of betrayal....it is an imbalance - it is discord - it is dysfunction of our form - it is beautiful in as much as it is awful and it is inspiring in as much as it tries to drag us down - life is a myriad of emotions and experiences, this is how I document mine

My Testimony (about me)

The music is made to give glory on high to our Lord through a means that many in today's society can understand, it is a crying out to our Father. One of my main goals is to reach troubled youth here online and speak to them with music - I recently started sampling the Bible and some excerpts from my favorite Bible teacher, the late Derek Prince (check out DerekPrince.org then register and go to the TWDP radio archives for the good stuff) I'm looking for some Christian Soldiers to help me figure this whole thing out with God's instruction.
