My Testimony (about me)

God is very important to me! He is my source of strength and provides me peace beyond all measure through the trials of life. The storms of life weigh heavy at times, but God is ALWAYS faithful! I am by no means perfect, just forgiven. He has done so much for me so I strive to live each day giving Him praise and showing His love to others.

My world revolves around an 8 year old bundle of rambunctious energy. He is my life! He brings joy and sunshine to my days! As a single mom, I often wonder if we will survive until his teenage years. He is already giving me gray hair and he is only 8! :)

I have a condition called Fibromyalgia.

I am very close to my family. My friends, both those whom I have held dear for 22+ yrs and those I am just meeting now, play an important role in my life. There is NOTHING I would not do for my family or friend. It is a role I take seriously!

Called by God to be a social worker. Working to change the world one heart, one person at a time! Giving unconditional love, encouragement, and inspiring hope!

I grew up the daughter of a retired state trooper turned pastor. As a PK (preacher's kid), I have held a myriad of responsibilities within the church. My family is beginning our ministry at Clement Wesleyan Church in Altavista, Virginia. And, I have been a member of the United Methodist, Free Methodist, and Evangelical Christian churches.

I enjoy reading books written by Kathi Macias. She has a new Christian mystery coming out on April 1st: My Son John as well as a Bible Study/Devotional entitled Mothers of the Bible Speak to Mothers of Today. I am looking forward to reviewing both books in the near future as well as her Bible Study/Devotional entitled Beyond Me: Living a You-First Life in a Me-First World.

I am also preparing to review Mary DeMuth's book Daisy Chain as well as A Vote of Confidence by Robin Lee Hatcher which is scheduled for release in May.

I recently finished reading a series written by Gayle Roper that weaves together the lives of the Plain (Amish or Pennsylvania Dutch) and the Fancy (the rest of the world, us outsiders or Englishers) people. The first, A Stranger's Wish, will be available January 2010. I will be posting reviews of all three books in this series closer to their release dates.

Anything by Dee Henderson ~ I fell in love with every member of the O'Malley Family in Dee Henderson's O'Malley Series.

Terri Blackstock, Tracey Peterson, Wanda Dyson, Patricia Rushford, and numerous others including authors with Steeple Hill (Susan May Warren, Marta Perry, Lois Richer, Merrilee Whren, and a myriad other authors), Love Inspired Suspense (Ginny Aiken, Susan Page Davis, Lisa Harris, Lisa Mondello, Terri Reed, Margaret Daley, Lyn), and Heartsong Presents (Tracey Bateman, Pamela Griffith).

Hopefully one day (if it is in God's will), I will have reached my dream of seeing one of my own works of fiction in print.

Christian music is far from stuffy these days! I love to listen to and sing songs of praise to God. They speak to my soul, pick me up when I am down, remind me of God's unfailing love for me a mere sinner, and bring me a calming peace when the storms of life threaten to blow me away.

My favorite Christian artists include: Addison Road, Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, Newsboys, the Katina's, Caedmon's Call, Third Day, Jars of Clay, Natalie Grant, MercyMe, and Casting .
