An Early Christmas Gift

What does golden hours and diamond minutes have to do with Christmas? No. It is not a gift from a jewelry store, more like a gift from the lesson on Punctuality in the Power of True Success book.

Christmas, golden hours and diamond minutes, and Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 all tie together in a rather special way.

This has been a time of many, many mixed emotions. Usually the Christmas glow begins in August for me. Due to the circumstances this year, I have been caught up in more of a grieving cycle tied together with busyness; spelled with a capital B.

Grieving? What does that famous poem say? “Let me count the ways….”

Changes are always hard and take a period of time to adjust and accept, or in my case accept and adjust.

The lesson on Punctuality is not only about being on time, but also about not wasting time, mine or others. Here is a quote by Horace Mann taken out of the lesson:

“Lost yesterday,
Somewhere between
Sunrise and sunset,
Two golden hours,
Each set with sixty
Diamond minutes.
No reward is offered
For they are gone
Forever.”

Enter Ecclesiastes which states there is a time and season for everything, which means EVERYTHING.

God, as my loving Father, knowing my heart gave me these things to help me re-focus on what is important. He helped me realize how precious time is for the here and now. Life goes on. It does not stop because I am hurting.

It is time to stop flicking those diamonds out the window.

It is time to continue my walk with the ultimate love of my life, Jesus, letting His love flow through me to others who need it so much.

Christmas, the story of Jesus who came to this earth as a baby to experience the EVERYTHING we go through.
