Dear
I want to start by telling you how excited I am about the contents of this letter. Thank you for your generous donation in supporting me and in giving me the opportunity to set out on this mission’s trip. I would like to thank you for partnering with me in this incredible opportunity to serve the Lord in Turkey and Ukraine! The Lord has been so faithful! He is doing wonderful things and I know that He will continue to be faithful to finish the good work He has started in me, especially after completing The Discipleship Training School YWAM (Youth With A Mission). I was truly blessed to have your prayers on our missionary journey these past two months. Before I begin telling you the exciting things that the Lord has done through us, I just wanted to say that none of this would have been possible without you.
Our trip in Turkey was absolutely wonderful; the Lord used us in so many ways. Our main priority in Turkey was friendship evangelism, which meant that we spent most of our time developing relationships with the people that we met. We also organized several Bible studies in which we could invite the people that we had met. I spent most of my time on the water front where I played the guitar and soccer with all the people at the park. While we were there I had an opportunity to meet over two hundred kids, some homeless. It was an awesome way to show Gods love through our actions. Furthermore we had numerous opportunities to invite people to church to expose them to the gospel. Although we were not able to spread the gospel openly in Turkey, the Lord used us in many ways, and taught our team countless life changing experiences.
Our journey continued in Ukraine, where upon arrival we had a very tedious and demanding schedule. We began immediately by going to a school for mentally disabled students to plant over twenty-eight trees to provide shade during the summer. Our labor continued as we traveled to a small Tar Tar village and helped them reconstruct their fence to keep the cows from eating their crops. As our journey continued in Ukraine we found ourselves once more being able to bless people around us through our labor. We spent several days preparing to build a wall by digging trenches for a foundation to build upon. Our mission in Ukraine was to bless as many people as possible and through the Lord’s help we succeeded in doing so
Just as we built a foundation for the wall, I have come to realize that the Lord is constantly building our foundations so that when the time is right, he can build us into something spectacular. I have learned many things along this journey that I will never forget. I have truly been blessed with your help in supporting me through this chapter in my life. I thank you for your prayers and your financial support. May God bless you richly!
In Christ’s Love,
Lex Layton
