Holocaust

The Holocaust was a mass slaughter of Jews, right? Well, it was also a mass "liquidation" of people who did not meet Hitler's standards of perfection- blue eyes, blond hair... and in the right mindset.
Hitler ordered the death of hundreds of disabled children- the Jews were in the know that they were being persecuted, but these children did not. They trusted adults and they wouldn't dream that anyone would ever hurt them. I recently had the opportunity to go to the Holocaust Museum in DC on a field trip and when I saw the pictures of the body parts and all, sure that was gross, but the pictures of the little disabled children right before they were about to have their necks snapped or a bullet through their heads killed me inside. To think that someone would want to hurt them... These children trusted the Nazis... they trusted every adult. They would never assume that anyone would ever kill them. Disabled kids are the most innocent of innocent- they were sheep led to slaughter.
I had a friend in elementary school named Sarah. She was in my art class with me but only sometimes and she wasn't in any of my other classes. She told me that she was special- different. I didn't know what she meant- all I knew was that she had the same pair of pink overalls as me.
I got taken out of school and was home schooled 3d-7th grade for I wasn't learning anything in school. My elementary school wanted me to go to summer school and mom said, "Why, so she can continue not learning?" and took me out. I was put into public school in 8th grade in many Gifted and Talented (GT) classes.
In 9th grade I was sitting in my French class one day bored to tears when I saw a girl walk in. She was my friend from elementary school. I watched her as she walked over to the trash can, picked it up, and walked back outside. A realization hit me, and I was in complete shock...
