THE ART OF MANIPULATION Vol.1 (Tithing)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ew-CtVI0GsM

Kinds of Tithes or tenths

Compulsary (required by Law or Commandment)

1. People paid a general tithe to the Levites

Tithes for Support of the Levites
21 “Behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tithes in Israel as an inheritance in return for the work which they perform, the work of the tabernacle of meeting.

People payed the tithe to the Levite who paid to the Preist

2) Levites paid 10% of the general tithe paid to them they paid 10% of that to the Priests.

The Tithe of the Levites
25 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 26 “Speak thus to the Levites, and say to them: ‘When you take from the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them as your inheritance, then you shall offer up a heave offering of it to the LORD, a tenth of the tithe. 27 And your heave offering shall be reckoned to you as though it were the grain of the threshing floor and as the fullness of the winepress. 28 Thus you shall also offer a heave offering to the LORD from all your tithes which you receive from the children of Israel, and you shall give the LORD’s heave offering from it to Aaron the priest. 29 Of all your gifts you shall offer up every heave offering due to the LORD, from all the best of them, the consecrated part of them.’ 30 Therefore you shall say to them: ‘When you have lifted up the best of it, then the rest shall be accounted to the Levites as the produce of the threshing floor and as the produce of the winepress. 31 You may eat it in any place, you and your households, for it is your reward for your work in the tabernacle of meeting.

3) People kept a tithe to pay for the annual pilgrimage to Jerusalem

Tithing Principles

22 “You shall truly tithe all the increase of your grain that the field produces year by year. 23 And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place where He chooses to make His name abide, the tithe of your grain and your new wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always. 24 But if the journey is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, or if the place where the LORD your God chooses to put His name is too far from you, when the LORD your God has blessed you, 25 then you shall exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place which the LORD your God chooses. 26 And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household.

4) People paid a tithe for the poor, orphans and widows

28 “At the end of every third year you shall bring out the tithe of your produce of that year and store it up within your gates. 29 And the Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are within your gates, may come and eat and be satisfied, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

Store house tithe ever 3 years for poor

1. Tithe was 10% of the increase taken from agricultural products grown in the fields, along with grains, fruits, herds and flocks.

2. Tithe was food, not the giving of money.

3. Only landowners tithed.

4. The First Tithe (Levitical Tithe) was used to support the Levite priests and their families because they had no land inheritance

5. The Second Tithe (Festival Tithe) was used to provide for the religious feasts and festivals.

6. The Third Tithe (Poor Tithe) was used to take care of the poor in their towns and provide for the alien, orphan and widow.

7. Tithe under the Old Covenant was similar to our government taxation today. Since Israel was ruled by a theocracy the people were responsible to support the priests, religious festivals and the poor and needy.

8. The people never tithed from their poverty, but only on their increase.

9. Storerooms were built on to the temple in Jerusalem to hold the overflow of tithe.

10. Tithing was mandatory, never voluntary. The Law of Moses required it.

11. If Israel failed to bring the tithe into God’s house and failed to offer acceptable sacrifices the nation would be under a curse so that the devourer (locusts) would eat their crops and destroy the fruits on their trees.

12. If Israel tithed on her increase and offered acceptable sacrifices required by the Law of Moses the nation would be materially blessed by abundant crops, plentiful rains and large increase in herds and flocks.

13. God did not require the best of the cattle and flocks for tithe, but He did require the best for sacrifices because they were a type (shadow) that pointed forward to the coming Reality—Jesus Christ.

14. If the people of Israel brought blind, lame and sick animals to the priests to offer as sacrifices the nation was under a curse.

15. Tithing was not an eternal moral command for people for all time, but a requirement of the Law of Moses for the nation of Israel.

16. God lumped both tithes and offerings (animal sacrifices) that were required by the Law of Moses, together when He objected to the way the nation of Israel was robbing Him of tithes and offerings.

Voluntary (Not required by Law or Commandment)

1) Jacob vowed a tenth

20 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on, 21 so that I come back to my father’s house in peace, then the LORD shall be my God. 22 And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You.”

2) Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils to Melchizedek

Abram and Melchizedek

18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. 19 And he blessed him and said:

“ Blessed be Abram of God Most High,
Possessor of heaven and earth;

20 And blessed be God Most High,
Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.”

And he gave him a tithe of all.

Tithing and Law of Moses

* 'Law of Moses' (first five books of Bible) was a complete religious and social system

* Only One Law was giving to Moses (was not divided as Ceremonial Law, Dietary Law, and Sacrificial Law and so on)

* Tithing was a Commandment to Israel in 'The Law'

* Tithing is 'The Law"; can't be separated

10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.

* God was not pleased by offerings given by those in sin or having a impure motive.

(, )

Yet people pay tithe in church today but many are still in sin and we see God is not pleased with that.

23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.

Yet People try to break off Tithing from the Law and use it

26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?”
27 So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’”
28 And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”

'The Law' Not Lawssssssss

tithing = 'The Law'

Refutations

* "Tithing was before the Law"

FALSE:Wasn't commanded till the Law of Moses; abolished along with ENTIRE SYSTEM by institution of New Covenant ( and 10)

* "Tithing is how God's work is supported"

FALSE: Yet people try to compare the Priest and temples to Pastors and Church building (WRONG!)

The Cheerful Giver
6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always
having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every
good work. 9 As it is written:

“ He has dispersed abroad,
He has given to the poor;
His righteousness endures forever.”

10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and
bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase
the fruits of your righteousness,

necessity
g318 Greek- anagke

1) necessity, imposed either by the circumstances, or by law of duty regarding to one's advantage, custom, argument
2) calamity, distress, straits

* "Tithing keeps the Satan from attacking my finances"

FALSE: ( See Below, people use out of context)

* "I tried Tithing and it works!"

FALSE: Tithing based on false motives; God does not honor it.

* "The Lord convicted me to tithe"

FALSE: The Holy Spirit convicts based on Truth - not lies and error.

* "Jesus is my Melchizedek" (the latest tithing scam...)

FALSE:

12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God

19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

Yet many Churches I been too take a week out from the year to guilt people into tithing.. Yet never really speak of the passage and purpose of it but to twist it to their want... To salad bar what they want from scripture..

Money is not mentioned, but notice what they do with the tithe. Isn't that interesting? Now we can move to the "Scare Tactic":

6 “ For I am the LORD, I do not change;
Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.
7 Yet from the days of your fathers
You have gone away from My ordinances
And have not kept them.
Return to Me, and I will return to you,”
Says the LORD of hosts.

“ But you said,
‘ In what way shall we return?’

Do Not Rob God
8 “ Will a man rob God?
Yet you have robbed Me!
But you say,

‘ In what way have we robbed You?’
In tithes and offerings.
9 You are cursed with a curse,
For you have robbed Me,
Even this whole nation.

10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,”
Says the LORD of hosts,

“ If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it.
11 “ And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes,
So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground,
Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,”
Says the LORD of hosts;
12 And all nations will call you blessed,
For you will be a delightful land,”
Says the LORD of hosts.

Who would want to rob God? That is a fearful thought, but wait! Let's
look at it. It is an ordinance! We? have held back our tithes and
offerings. Granted, the word "offering" could imply money, as well as
heave offerings and the like, but does not clarify it as such. More
than likely, a mixture. We? are cursed with a curse. Didn't Jesus
redeem us from the curse of the law?

13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a
curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a
tree”),

10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for
it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things
which are written in the book of the law, to do them.”

This isn't sounding good. What nation was Malachi speaking of? Israel!
Not the church. This was the Old Testament. The law. We can neutralize
the "scare tactic."

Here is where the opponent will take another shot at you. He will say
something like: "See here, Jesus commended tithing." Why? Just because
He said the word "tithe"? He did not commend any such thing! The
Pharisees were under the law, and by law, had to tithe. Jesus had to
"agree" with that because He was not yet crucified, and all people in
Israel, were under the law. When Jesus was crucified He ushered in the
New Covenant and the Old was finished.

6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is
also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better
promises.

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel
after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and
write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be
My people.

13 In that He says, “A new covenant, ” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

Ok where do Blessings come From???? Do they not come when God moves upon the heart of a person to bless some one???

By no means am I saying don't support your church......but to say "YOU HAFT TO TITHE AND BE OBEDIENT".........is far from the truth!!!!.

Yet pastors do so cause coffers above in the organization tell them to directly or indirectly.

Yet this shows what fear and doubt they have on their behalf that God
will provide. Forget the plate in service and put a box in the lobby...
If congregation fails to support their church, it just goes to show how
little pastors are doing to reach them with the truth of the Bible. And
that proves too what little to Many Christian show they love God and
read the Word.

Pastors can hate me all they want, My confidence is in God and Holy Spirit to lead and teach me and help me to rightfully divide the word. Like I heard one pastor say.. If you want to see a Pastor get angry hit
him with the truth of the Gospel. Why many Christian hate me and many
come back to apologize to me about it. Glory to God! Yet some harden in
their stance to ignore what scriptures says cause they heard else wise
or believe else wise apart from Bible.

YET JESUS SAID......................

Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And
revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man’s sake.

And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

Yet I get way tooo many Christians who warn me not to offend people with the Truth of the Gospel...

[ You Cannot Serve God and Riches ]
"No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love
the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You
cannot serve God and mammon

mammon- Riches; wealth; or the god or riches.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of
evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness,
and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money,
boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful,
unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control,
brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of
pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but
denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Don't love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.

Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:

And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.

19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

11 These people must be stopped, because they are upsetting whole families by teaching things they should not teach, which they do to get rich by cheating people.

For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus
Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech
deceive the hearts of the simple.

1 Peter
2 shepherd God's flock, for whom you are
responsible. Watch over them because you want to, not because you are
forced. That is how God wants it.
Do it because you are happy to serve, not because you want money.3 nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock;

Biggest
Mistake is people falling for when their Pastor says they haft to
listen to the commands they give and be submitting under their
anointing.

Um only person we should be following is Our Lord Jesus Christ!

And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”

4For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
